Softonic review

A multi-player MOBA VR game

War of Castle VR has you fight against the computer or against online players. You attack the other player’s characters, the other player’s troops, and the other player’s guard towers. You must take down the other player’s tower to win.

Fight and defend on different fronts

You play as your own character, and you have other troops that you may command. If the character you are playing dies, then it takes a while to respawn, and that is time that the enemy may use to lower your troop numbers or to attack your tower. There are neutral bosses that spawn at weird intervals, and they may be taken over and commanded by you or the enemy. Multiple players may fight in battles, and the variety of weapons really helps this game stand out against other games that were released the same year as this one.

Bulky in some areas and not in others

War of Castle VR is odd in that some areas of the game appear to be highly developed, such as the choice and variety of weapons. Yet, there are other areas, such as the voice scripting, that seem very basic and rushed. It is almost like the developers planned to do lots of work, but then got bored and skimmed over them. The biggest downside is that you do not know what sort of damage your weapons are doing, which makes it difficult to choose the correct weapon for each enemy.

PROS

  • Plenty of action to keep VR players interested
  • Weapon designs are pretty good

CONS

  • It is hard to tell how damaging weapons are
  • Difficult to see who is doing what
